Tahoe was great. Everyone had a blast skiing and partying. The skiing
at Heavenly was great. Lots and lots of different trails to ski. There
was something for all levels of skiers.
Had
a fun time at the Toga Dinner Party Tuesday night. Everyone looked great
dressed for the occasion. Food was good too.
The
Penguins joined in for the EPSC Race Day on the mountain. We had 2 teams
of 4 men and 3 women and there were 3 individual males that skied. Team
2 came in 5th place out of 11 qualifying teams. Those winners were;
Doreen Howley, Christina Ricciardi, Dave Howley, Bill Bauer, Dan McGovern
and Mike McGovern with a total winning team time of 244.71.
The
following Penguins received medals for the fastest individual race time
for their ski club. Our winners were;
Men:
Gold Dan McGovern - Time
26.35 & Maryanne Benner: 36.53
Silver Michael McGovern
- Time 26.73
Bronze Bill Bauer - Time
29.63
Women:
Gold Maryanne Benner -
Time 36.53
Silver Doreen Howley -
Time 36.71
Bronze Christina Ricciardi
- Time 39.46
Our
day at Kirkwood was a little challenging. It was snowing heavily all
day but most of our hard core Penguin skier's toughed it out and skied
most all day.
Squaw
was a great day too. The weather was picture perfect as well as the
mountain. Everyone enjoyed the day then went on to enjoy our dinner
& dancing cruise aboard the Tahoe Queen. We even enjoyed Dave Howley
joining in with the band playing his harmonica. He was great.
All
in all it was a great trip. It's a beautiful place. EPSC is looking
at either Aspen or Steamboat, Colorado ski resorts for the 2012 western
ski trip. Hope everyone that went on this trip and the Penguins that
didn't get on this trip go on the next one. It's a great time. And maybe
we can up our chances on being one of the top 3 winning race teams.
